Revolutions, being upheavals of the most radical form, require changes to take place at the root of a society's value system. Given that Iraq was decidedly ruined on every conceivable level by the former Baath regime, the political corruption gripping the nation, as well as the unspeakable genocideries of ISIS, undoing all of the damage requires a moral transfiguration.

When Imam Hasan b. `Ali [a] made peace with Mu`awiya b. Abi Sufyan, people went to him and some of them criticized him for his pledge of allegiance.

The Imam said, “Woe unto you! You do not know what I did. By Allah, what I have done is better for my Shī‘a than all of the riches upon which the Sun has risen and sat. Don’t you know that I am your Imam, whose obedience is obligatory upon you, and one of the two Masters of the Youth of Paradise on the virtue of the explicit saying of the Messenger of Allah [s]?”

Fatima, the daughter of Imam Ali (as) once called Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari (ra) - the old companion of the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) and said to him, "O Jabir! Among the Ahlul-Bayt (as), one who has survived is Ali ibn Husayn (as) and he (as) has over-engrossed himself in the worship of Allah (SWT). His forehead and palms have wounds because of extensive prostrations and his body has become thin and weak.

After Abbas (pbuh), came the turn of Ali Akbar (pbuh), to go to the battlefield. The battle drums of the enemies were now getting louder and louder. It is reported that this eighteen (18) year old son was so very much loved by one and all in the camp that the account of his taking leave of his aunts, sisters, brothers and other relatives is so pathetic that none can resist shedding at least a few tears over the heart-rending event. At last when the Holy Imam sent Ali Akbar, the 'Ahmad-e-Thani', i.e., (Muhammad the Second), to the battlefield, he raised his head towards Heaven and said:

After years of crying for Imam Husain as  and his companions , it was this time of the year when Imam Ali bin Husain Zainul Abideen (a.s) had a smile on his face. He received the good news that the great companion and true Shia, Al-Mukhtar al-Thaqafy has taken revenge for the Ahlul-bayt and killed off many of the criminals who tortured the Ahlul-bayt in Kerbala. Today we salute this great companion for his service to the true Islam.
